Calendar setup
Connect a calendar.
DriveDash needs one read-only calendar subscription link. You keep managing events in your usual calendar; we use the feed to display them on your dashboard.
The one requirement
A public ICS or iCal feed
The link must update as your calendar changes and open without a password, account login, approval request, or organization access. We never need your calendar password.
Accepted sources
Personal calendars with a public feed
Google Calendar, personal Microsoft Outlook calendars, and Apple iCloud calendars all provide a supported public-feed path. Proton Calendar, Zoho Calendar, Fastmail, Nextcloud, and other services can also work when they provide a public, continuously updating ICS or iCal subscription URL.
Google Calendar
Copy the public iCal address
- On a computer, open Google Calendar and select Settings.
- Under Settings for my calendars, select the personal calendar you want displayed.
- Under Access permissions for events, turn on Make available to public. Choose whether the feed shows event details or only free/busy time.
- Open Integrate calendar and copy the Public address in iCal format.
- Paste that address into your DriveDash order form.
Do not send the “Secret address in iCal format.” Google states that address is for your own use and should not be shared.

Publish an ICS link
- Sign in to your personal Outlook account on the web and open Calendar.
- Open Calendar settings, then go to Calendar → Shared calendars.
- Under Publish a calendar, choose the personal calendar and the amount of detail to show.
- Select Publish, then copy the ICS link—not the HTML link.
- Paste the ICS link into your DriveDash order form.
If Publish a calendar is missing or the link asks viewers to sign in, that calendar is not compatible. Microsoft work and school accounts are out of scope.

Turn on Public Calendar
- On a computer or tablet, sign in at iCloud.com/calendar and open Calendar.
- Select the calendar’s Calendar Information button.
- Turn on Public Calendar.
- Select Copy to copy the subscription link.
- Paste that link into your DriveDash order form.
On iPhone or iPad: Open the Calendar app, select Calendars, tap the information button next to the iCloud calendar, turn on Public Calendar, then select Share Link.
The calendar is read-only for subscribers, but anyone with the link can view it. Share a separate calendar containing only events you are comfortable displaying.

Use the public subscription link
These services can also create a link DriveDash can read. Menu labels may change slightly over time; the linked provider instructions have the latest details.
Proton Calendar
Share with anyone
- Open Proton Calendar on the web and go to Settings → All settings → Calendars.
- Select the calendar, choose Share with anyone, and create a link.
- Choose the detail level, copy the link, and add it to your order form.
Proton requires a paid plan for public calendar links, and updates may take up to eight hours to appear.

Copy the public iCal link
- Open Settings → Calendar → My Calendars and select the calendar.
- Under Sharing and permissions, enable Public access.
- Choose the details to share and copy the iCal link—not the HTML link.

Publish the calendar
- Open Settings → Calendars and edit the calendar you want to share.
- Under Publish, turn on full event details or free/busy access.
- Copy the public URL, select Save, and add the link to your order form.
Nextcloud Calendar
Create a share link
- Open Calendar and select the calendar’s sharing menu.
- Select the + next to Share link.
- Open the public page, copy its subscription link, and add it to your order form.
Public links are read-only. If an organization hosts your Nextcloud account, its administrator may restrict sharing.

Public-feed access is required
Yahoo can be used only if your calendar provides a public ICS or iCal subscription URL that opens without sign-in. Yahoo’s standard CalDAV connection requires a Yahoo ID and app password, and its share-by-email option requires an account invitation; neither method works for DriveDash.
If Yahoo does not show a public subscription link, create a separate personal Google or Outlook.com calendar containing only the events you want on the dashboard.

Look for a subscription URL
Look in the calendar’s sharing or publishing settings for terms such as Public calendar, Subscribe, iCal, ICS, or Internet calendar. Send the continuously updating subscription URL—not a one-time exported file or a link that requires sign-in.
If the provider gives you a link beginning with webcal://, include it as provided and name the calendar service on the order form so we can verify it.
Privacy check
Share only what belongs on the dashboard.
Anyone who obtains a public feed link may be able to read its events. Some providers may also make public calendars discoverable. A separate personal calendar containing only dashboard-safe events is the safest choice.
- Leave out medical, financial, work, school, and other sensitive details.
- Avoid private addresses, meeting links, access codes, and confidential notes.
- Use neutral event titles when the subject itself is sensitive.
